What you’ll do

As a junior finance consultant, you’ll directly support tons of important financial processes within the customer environment. By diving right in, you’ll quickly learn more about business operations in the financial sector. From here on, you’ll delve deeper into the work and eventually fulfil an advisory role for one of our partners. What partners exactly? Think leading financial organisations: banks, insurance companies and pension funds.

Alongside more experienced consultants, you’ll be working on short-term projects. Together, you’ll solve complex financial (data) issues, optimise reports, or make proposals for improvement. New laws and regulations, process optimisation, and data quality will be subjects you’ll specialise in.

The projects you’ll work on will last 6 to 9 months on average. During the program, you’ll be aided and advised by a talent manager and a senior consultant; tackling both professional and personal growth. You’ll develop professionally, fine-tune your consultancy skills, and receive coaching for the practical assignments. This multi-faceted approach ensures that you can quickly grow as a professional and, by doing so, also continue to challenge and develop yourself.

With our 3-year consultancy program and the broad range of projects accompanying it, you’ll obtain a solid all-around basis to help you become a full-fledged consultant.

During year 1 and 2, we carve out the foundation with specialisation following in year 3. After the three-year program, you can then take on the consultancy labels within our parent company, The Hup:

  • RiskSphere: focuses on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
  • Firm C: Data-driven Finance & Risk, project management, and process optimisation.
  • Managing consultant: leading, coaching, and guiding young people within the consultancy program.

Who you are

  • A university degree in Finance, Business Economics or Accountancy or a Higher Professional Education in Finance or Economics with either one year of work experience, part-time job experience or a relevant internship.
  • Affinity with the financial sector.
  • You are driven, proactive, stress-resistant and a go-getter.
  • You are an analytical genius – numbers are your best friends.
  • You have great communication skills, are positive, and can be persuasive.
  • Residing in the Netherlands.

What you’ll get

  • A 3-year training program with personal guidance to further optimise your consultancy skills (Lean Six Sigma en Power BI, for example).
  • Good performance is rewarded, and we offer excellent career opportunities.
  • A great salary and variable bonus.
  • A laptop, phone, and travel budget.
  • Dynamic and international working environment,
  • A close-knit team who won’t shy away from having a drink or going out to dinner together.

Thanks to the coaching I received from more experienced consultants at Solid Professionals, I was able to quickly pick up more responsibilities on my client assignment. This allowed me to make an immediate impact with the client.

What can you expect?

When working as a junior finance consultant, you’ll get the best of both worlds. On the one hand, you’ll get a taste of the dynamics of various leading organisations in the financial sector. On the other hand, you’ll have a permanent home base with the chance to build real relationships with your colleagues.

Want to find out how it really is to work as a consultant? Read the stories of Robbert and Marianne.

That combination makes working as a finance consultant at Solid Professionals different to any other company. You don’t see each other every day, but the time we spend together is real quality time. Plus, we regularly have fun drinks, and every year we have a weekend outing with the entire team! Will we see you there next time?

Would you rather specialise directly within one department? Then our 1 to 2-year Traineeship Finance might be something for you!
